Local Author Elizabeth Becker Joins CharlottesvilleFamily Book Club at the Dairy Market Aug. 25

CharlottesvilleFamily magazine will host the next meeting of its Moms Lit Society book club on Tuesday, August 25 at 6:30 pm in the private meeting room at Starr Hill Brewery in the Dairy Market, 946 Grady Ave. We welcome all book lovers, even if you've not yet had a chance to read tonight's selection.

Charlottesville novelist Elizabeth Becker will join the group to discuss her debut novel, The Moonlight Healers, answer questions and sign copies. Becker is a former pediatric nurse and an award-winning essayist whose work has appeared on Oprah Daily, Motherwell and Motherly. She lives in Charlottesville with her husband and four children, and her second novel, Saltwater Cowboys, arrives in June 2027.

Bluebird & Co. of Crozet will host a pop-up shop with copies of The Moonlight Healers and the club's upcoming 2026-2027 selections. Attendees will receive giveaways from CharlottesvilleFamily, including stickers, magazines and flower seeds.

The Moms Lit Society meets quarterly and features books by Virginia women authors. The club is a partnership among CharlottesvilleFamily, Bluebird & Co., the Dairy Market and Starr Hill Brewery, created to give local parents a regular evening for conversation and connection. CharlottesvilleFamily publisher Jennifer Bryerton leads the discussion.

The event is free and open to the community. No RSVP or membership is required, and parking in the Dairy Market lot is free. Food, drink and books are available for purchase.
