Full-time, Non-Exempt • 37.5 hrs./week, 5 days on-site • Reports to Director of MLS and Technology Services
OVERVIEW
The Technology & Membership Specialist sits at the intersection of customer service, technology, and member engagement, delivering prompt, effective technical support to CAAR staff, members, and Hillsdale Conference Center clients while assisting with core membership services. This role involves significant face-to-face contact with members, so success calls for sharp troubleshooting skills, strong interpersonal communication, and a genuine passion for service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Tier 1 technical support to staff and Hillsdale Conference Center guests, in person and via phone or email.
- Help members navigate CAAR products and services, including the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and other member tools.
- Serve as the secondary point of contact for customer inquiries, resolving issues directly or routing them to the right team member.
- Track recurring technical issues and recommend system or process improvements that enhance the user experience.
- Maintain accurate member records in both the association database and the MLS system.
- Support membership operations, including data entry and related programs and services.
- Manage day-to-day REALTOR® Store operations: monitor inventory, process sales, and recommend product updates.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Work Environment: 100% in-person, Monday–Friday
- Education: Degree or certification in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience: 1–2 years in technical support, membership services, or a similar customer-facing role
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with customer databases and ticketing systems (a plus)
- Core Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $50,000–$53,000 annual salary
- Full-time, non-exempt position
- 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday, with a one-hour lunch
- Medical and dental coverage fully paid by CAAR, valued at $950 per month
- Life insurance and short-term disability coverage paid by CAAR
- 10 vacation days and 8 sick days per year, earned on a prorated monthly basis; 5 additional vacation days available after 3 years
- Approximately 15 paid federal holidays
- 401(k) matching: CAAR matches 50% of your contribution up to 3% of salary, beginning after 6 months of employment
- Paid training for CAAR, Virginia REALTORS®, and National Association of REALTORS® tools
- Education assistance for programs that benefit both CAAR and the employee
