UVA Pipelines & Pathways Grand Opening Celebration

We cordially invite you to attend the grand opening of UVA Pipelines & Pathways on Monday, May 8th, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center (233 4th St. NW, Charlottesville, VA 22903). Join us as we celebrate the official launch of Pipelines & Pathways, which is focused on helping individuals residing in underserved communities in the Charlottesville region (including the City of Charlottesville and Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson) gain access to employment at UVA with the opportunity for upward mobility. The event is free and open to all community members. No registration is required.
Please stop by and see us any time from 1 pm to 5 pm. Between 2 pm and 3pm, we will have several guest speakers, including:
- UVA President Jim Ryan
- UVA Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer John Kosky
- City of Charlottesville Vice-Mayor Juandiego Wade
- Participants who have found employment at UVA as a result of participating in Pipelines & Pathways
A ribbon cutting with the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce will also be held at 3 pm.
In addition to this, the Pipelines & Pathways team will be onsite to talk about the program and help anyone interested get enrolled. UVA recruiters and hiring managers will also be available to discuss open positions with UVA. Community partners will be set up to share information about resources available to job seekers across the Charlottesville region. We will also be offering professional development workshops throughout the day.
