Employee Engagement Workshop with Cville SHRM

Employee engagement is more than pizza parties and picnics. Engaging employees on a real, personal level will not only help your organization and the team, it will foster opportunities to enhance your experience in the world as an individual. Employees want to contribute to an organization that resonates with them, their core values, purpose. One that welcomes them and allows them to contribute in a way only they can. In this workshop we will explore techniques that foster engagement, along with a few that deter engagement.

Presenter: Lara Andrake, Albemarle County

Lara Andrake currently serves as the Chief, Shared Services, Risk Management, & Analytics at the County of Albemarle. Lara is an effective change leader— with over 15 years’ experience assisting team members incorporate employee engagement into continuous process improvement efforts. She is recognized for ‘getting things done”, relationship building between departments, and is experienced in translating complicated organizational risk and insurance concepts, benefits administration, change management, and financial principles into useful language for all levels.

Lara brings a dynamic perspective that incorporates a practical approach to solving organizational obstacles through engaging with staff,  understanding, then responding with a practical action plan to drive positive change. She has led efforts in the public, private, and higher education space to help leadership and staff transition to new systems, revamp management structures, and build programs to modernize and facilitate best practices in Benefits Administration, Financial stewardship, & Risk management. Lara is a graduate of Mary Baldwin University’s Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences and the University of Virginia. She is the Board Secretary for Charlottesville SHRM.
