Corporate Support Representative

The Corporate Support Representative is responsible for securing business underwriting for WVTF/Radio IQ Public Radio by cultivating new underwriters and maintaining relationships with existing ones. This role develops on-air underwriting scripts (copy) and collaborates with the Traffic Coordinator to ensure that announcements are accurately scheduled and broadcast.
The representative performs all underwriting functions in full compliance with applicable federal regulations (FCC, IRS) as well as Virginia Tech and WVTF/Radio IQ policies, procedures, and guidelines. Additional responsibilities include working with the Office Manager to collect past-due accounts and participating in the station’s on-air fund drives as assigned.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with coworkers, clients, and listeners. They will excel at identifying and securing new underwriting partners while strengthening relationships with current supporters. The role requires learning and becoming proficient in WVTF/Radio IQ’s underwriting and client database systems. A proven track record of meeting revenue goals and the ability to self-manage work effectively are essential.
