2018 Cyber Security Conference
The Central Virginia Small Business Development Center (CV SBDC), along with the Albemarle County Economic Development Office and First Citizens Bank, are hosting the 2018 Cyber Security Conference from 8:00am until 4:30pm at the Albemarle County Office Building – McIntire on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.
Kicking off the Conference Agenda in the morning will be Keynote Daniel Eliot, Director of Small Business Programs at the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) in Washington, DC, describing how Not Being Cyber Secure is RISKY Business. Jon Steiger, Director of the Federal Trade Commission’s East Central Region, headquartered in Cleveland, will then unveil the national launch of the FTC’s latest Cyber Security Campaign, a brand new, free publication featuring new Cyber Aware/Cyber Secure Fact Sheets designed by and for small businesses. The Conference continues with a day of education and best practices on the full range of active and passive security threats and mitigation through both human and technology-based methods.
