DESCRIPTION:Renaissance School\, Charlottesville's college preparatory high school for high-ability students in the arts\, sciences\, and humanities\, will host their Spring Open House on Monday\, February 20th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parents and interested students are invited to tour the school\, speak with current students and faculty\, as well as attend classes and experience the interdisciplinary learning culture of Renaissance School. For 17 years\, Renaissance School has enriched students through an interdisciplinary curriculum emphasizing critical thinking\, creativity\, and collaboration. Mixing traditional academics with innovative programs\, Renaissance School students continue a tradition of artistic and academic excellence that leads them to some of the best colleges and universities in the country. Renaissance School students explore everything from DNA research to animation\, creating a diverse atmosphere in a small school setting. Unique features of Renaissance School's program include enrichment projects with community partners\, two years of personalized college counseling\, and a senior thesis with a formal research paper and defense.
