Claudia will share a briefing on the bills that got passed this year in the General Assembly that affect veterans and military in Virginia.\n\n\n\nOur agenda also includes:\n\n	DAC Update: Governance Changes\n	Office of the Virginia Secretary of Defense and Veteran Affairs Updates: New benefits for veterans\n	Committee Recruitment: DAC Welcome document\, Tech4Troops Campaign\, Special Events Committee\n\n\n\n\nClaudia Flores\, a retired Navy Commander\, is the Director of Policy & Planning and Legislative Liaison for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. She is responsible for legislative\, policy\, and budget development\, and strategic planning. She has been with the Department since 2017\, always working in the arena of veteran benefits. She began her Navy career as an enlisted Cryptologist and went on to earn a Commission as an intelligence officer. Her assignments include working in Combatant Commands\, the NSA\, the Joint Staff and aboard the aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower.\n\n \n\n\n\nThe mission of the Chamber Defense Affairs Committee (DAC) is to foster economic vitality by further strengthening the alliance of relationships among the Chamber\, the Chamber network\, the Central Virginia community\, the regional defense & intelligence community\, and our veterans.
