DESCRIPTION:FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE\n\n\nNovember 3\, 2026\n\nMedia contact:\n\nCaite Hamilton\n\nEditor in Chief\, C-VILLE Weekly\n\neditor@c-ville.com\n\nC-VILLE Gives brings together more than 20 local nonprofits for six weeks of giving\, November 4 December 15\n\nC-VILLE Gives brings together more than 20 local nonprofits for six weeks of giving\, November 4 December 15\n\nCHARLOTTESVILLE\, Va. This holiday season\, C-VILLE Weekly is inviting Central Virginians to give back to the community they call home. On November 4\, the independent local newspaper will launch C-VILLE Gives\, a new six-week charitable giving campaign connecting residents with local nonprofit organizations and encouraging generosity close to home.\n\nRunning November 4 through December 15 at c-ville.gives\, the inaugural campaign brings together more than 20 nonprofits working across eight areas: human services\, community\, animals\, creative expression\, environment\, home\, education\, and health. The goal is simple: introduce residents to organizations doing important work in their own backyard and make it easy to support the causes they care about.\n\nParticipating organizations include the Wildlife Center of Virginia\, United Way of Greater Charlottesville\, Cultivate Charlottesville\, Botanical Garden of the Piedmont\, Music Resource Center\, ReadyKids\, Rivanna Conservation Alliance\, Service Dogs of Virginia\, Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary\, Light House Studio\, Charlottesville Area Community Foundation\, and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello\, among others.\n\n"Charlottesville is full of people doing incredible things for their neighbors\, often without much recognition\," said Caite Hamilton\, editor of C-VILLE Weekly. "With C-VILLE Gives\, we want to tell their stories\, introduce people to organizations they might not know about\, and inspire everyone to give what they can. You don't have to be a major philanthropist to make a meaningful difference."\n\nThroughout the campaign\, C-VILLE Weekly will share stories about the people and missions behind participating nonprofits\, from dedicated volunteers and organizational leaders to unexpected wish lists and real-world examples of what a donation can accomplish.\n\nVisitors to c-ville.gives will be able to explore participating organizations\, learn about their needs\, and make donations directly to the nonprofits of their choice.\n\nC-VILLE Gives builds on the newspaper's longstanding commitment to connecting the community through local journalism\, using its print and digital platforms to amplify the work of the region's nonprofit sector.\n\nLocal television and radio stations are invited to help spread the word. C-VILLE representatives and leaders from participating nonprofits are available for interviews about the campaign\, the needs facing local organizations\, and the impact of charitable giving in Central Virginia. Logos and images are attached for you to use to promote the event.\n\nC-VILLE Gives runs November 4 December 15\, 2026.
